oh dear... so many campsites, so little time:)
eastfork… love to be able to reserve a spot due to my late arrivals:) I have not mastered the get up early and drive straight there yet.. I leave late, and tend to get sidetracked on the way down with stops:)
big and iris... love the smaller campgrounds right on the creek:)
French.. love the lower altitude!!! and the warmer temps in the fall

One of my fav sites is at Upper Pine. Having a small store and showers close by is a nice amenity too.
Like LHR, I'm liking French much more than I originally did. Lower altitude, warmer temps, close to Tom's, and easier options to explore RC canyon, or day excursions to other spots on the eastern slope.
Our crew usually stays at French; sites 66-71, usually. We use it as a base camp. We like the proximity to Tom's and the easy access to 395. Since we cook much less than we used to, nights are mostly campfires, snacks, and adult beverages.
