I have fallen in with a group of rock hounders.. last Saturday we got together and headed up Brusnwick Canyon (east of Carson City) in search of Opalized wood... basically petrified wood made from Opal minerals...
we caught a great day weather wise... but the ground was mostly frozen, except for the mud on top.. kind of a weird combo:)
got an early start...
the road up before it required 2 hands on the wheel at all times:)
the view... looking towards the west at the east side of the Sierra:
one of the guys had a drone, and caught this shot:)
