After our snow shoe trip into the cabin last week, I would say there may be some good ice fishing this year. There is about 5-6 feet at East Fork with berms upto 8 feet. We will see if the warm up continues.
It will be close...it warmed up again, things are melting fast. I don't think Tuff will be a problem, pretty open in there. I haven't been through French yet, I'll let you know when I do, and what I find. I expect the Campground Manager to show up soon, I'll get the real story from him.
Found you guys...!!!!!!! After having a mini meltdown/panic attack after going to the old site yesterday.. Terry eased my fears. I'm glad that you all have carried on. It will take me a while to get over all the information that has been lost. I would pay to have that data transferred if I could. ..
Alas I will be in attendance of opening day again this year.. after all it may be the last one-something I found out of my because of this board-... I'm interested in trying ice fishing after I'm done with my usual spots, anyone have any tips or recommendations?
Hope you all are doing well, I will try and catch up on all the reading.. glad that this place exists more than I can express, please tell me how I can help out.. if needed.
I just got back from my first drive up the Canyon. The road is plowed to the Pack Station, 3 to 4 feet of snow up there. The same with the road to the boat docks, as well as the road to the upper end, full of snow. The usual small spots of open water at the inlet, outlet, and the creek by the group camp. Looked over into East Fork, snow in there is about picnic table deep, the road through the campground is still covered in snow. The creek is flowing, but you'll have to walk through the snow to get to it. Tuff and French are open, Holiday is closed. Have fun.
