So what are the conditions up the road looking like? Trying to decide if we will be able to drive in for Memorial Day Weekend to start opening up for the summer. I know the road is plowed up to the pack station but wondering if the campgrounds are open yet? East Fork? Palisade? Looking forward to getting up to the creek this year.

For more than a week we've been experiencing nice, warm, spring-like weather, snow was melting, runoff had started, T-shirt weather again....then, last night, another small storm system came through. It rained at my house for hours, unusual in itself, but nice. Woke up to a dusting of snow up McGee Canyon, a little on the Glass Mts. behind Crowley. I took my weekly water run up the Canyon this morning, hit snow right about Aspen Camp. Not much, but it's beautiful up there. The road is warm enough that nothing stuck until you get to the Resort. The Lake has that look like it's ready to break up, still a couple of feet up there. I drove into Palisade on the way back down, your road still has a little snow on it, a pretty nice "creek" flowing down the road, one small downed pine that may be in the way, but you should be able to just chuck it to the side....I imagine that it should be passable by Memorial Day, but you never know..I'll keep you up to date. Big and Iris Meadows are open now, but not East Fork. I haven't found the campground manager yet, no information on E.F. opening.....

Thanks Scout! This time of year we do get a bit of a river across the road. Glad to hear the snow is melting.
