Yes I missed any time in RC ! Glad things went well for a decent trip. That is the consensus this year, great spots left unoccupied because peolpe do not have the courtesy to cancel when they decide not to go. Frustrating to say the least as I check almost daily for things to open up. Glad Desert Springs is not stocking as it would be bad for the fish with such low water. Sucks for us fishermen that want a trout dinner, but why kill fish with low water. Mainly as Desert Springs brings nice large trout!
Glad to hear Scout is giving up a few secerets! Maybe some of the cantankerous is wearing off of him. Just kidding as he adds a special gift to a trip with his friendship, knowledge and of course the stories.
Hoping for a late September gathering over a weekend where CLUB people can make it up. Working on it as of last week..... Just want the no shows to cancel some spots. Who is in for a Pre Roctober event ( as my daughter is due with our first grandbaby in mid October so need to be back down the hill.

I'm practicing my snow dance for this coming season to help curb this drought, we'll see if it works. I'm having to cancel our labor day reservation. Site 122 9/2-9/6 should be up for grabs shortly, if interested. We're going to try for October, but don't think the restrictions will be lifted by then. Either way, my dance moves should improve.

Erik and I were at French camp Aug 19th thru 23rd spent our 17th anniversary at Toms Place We didn't even attempt to fish. We did do some hiking and a lot of walking around w the dog. Went up to East Fork and walked around …finally found the 2nd beaver dam, I just knew there had to be 2. Went over to Convict and walked around the lake, it is crazy full due to a very large log sitting in the water where it flows from lake to stream. Anne at the store said they had to wait for the Forrest service to remove it, normally there is a pretty large beach area at the back of the lake it is under water. I also heard that the folks that own Convict resort bought McGee creek lodge

The outlet to Convict has been a problem in the past. A few years ago, the people at the resort messed with it, and flooded the SNARL operation downstream. Other times they've tried to raise the level of the lake, and dried up a lot of the creek. Probably why they're "waiting" for USFS to do something.

Looks like East Fork is closing early. This is from Recreation.gov today:
"A location closure has been issued for East Fork Campground – Inyo National Forest (CA) from Tue, Aug 31, 2021 - Thu, Sep 16, 2021 due to Site Closure."
Anyone with reservations will get an automatic refund.
