Finally one week out from a few weeks at the creek. Sad we are only making one trip up this season, as things messed up a few other trips. Still might throw in a Roctober trip, but looks slim chance. Anyone else coming up 20-29th?

Heading up for Labor Day weekend, God willing. It's been sketchy with the smoke/drought conditions/fire restrictions the last couple years, wouldn't be surprised if access is rescinded as the season matures. It'll be the first trip this year as well, can't wait.

Y'all have a great time up there. Best I can do is an impending road trip to Las Vegas with multi-day stops in Flagstaff and Grand Cyn... No quite the ES let alone RCL. Scout, have an extra dose of spring water! Tight lines and cool temps! Go get 'em Wayne!

Hoping that next season will be better with securing spots. Talking with Dennis there was an abundance of last minute cancellations and also many no shows over this season. Some thought is the covid "campers" made reservations and now that things have opened up they decided that camping is not thier thing. He said some people vacated spots leaving thier gear in place or sitting on tables. We will see whats up come the end of December on Rec.gov

Thats just crazy to leave their gear there. I guess that it's better than leaving their trash behind tho.

I saw the gear being left twice this year and both times it was due to Bears in their site . Once at Convict it was 2 guys and on the second night of the bear coming thru they literally jumped in their truck and left ,all of their camping equipment left behind. Once at East fork I told them as they were washing their dishes at the spigot that there was a bear in the campground they said they were fine and new all about dealing with bears while camping LOL they left at 4:00am after yelling at the bear to get out of their site and they left their fishing poles

Had bears all four nights last week in East Fork, as I expected and as the camp host said there'd be. Paw prints on the truck, batted clean cookware around, she tossed my camp as if I owed her money (the bear, not the camp host). I still don't know where they hide the fish when I head up there, but I still have fun tying. Ditto to Scouts' comments, the colors are off the charts up there. Great weather! Already can't wait for Spring.

So, you met Larry the Bear. He is quite the character and makes his rounds for sure. Sorry to hear no fish but with the water so low glad that Desert Springs did not put more in, not enough to support the nicer bigger fish they plant.

What I forgot to post was that their site was right next to the spigot, their tent was 20 feet from it

Their camping G.P.A. would be zero point zero.

I always thought that tourists should be given a test at the county line. Don't pass the test, you don't cross the line. The head of tourism didn't find that humorous.
