Heading up next weekend on our annual father/son (3 generations) eastern Sierra trip. This makes year 35! Anyway, Does anyone have an updated fishing report for the creek? The days are getting longer in anticipation! Any info is appreciated.

Just came back last week and did well at the inlet and caught a Golden. Also fished around the corrals and did good. One guy caught a big bow under one of the bridges. I only used night crawlers on a #12 mosquito hooks with the barb’s pinched so I lost more than I landed. Bishop creek produced more. Have a great time with family! Ray.

If you were fishing the inlet of Rock Creek Lake, you probably caught a Brook Trout, not a Golden. Amazingly pretty, bright orange belly, easy to mistake for a Golden, but there are none in the lake...sorry.

Caught this one above Saddlebag lake and the one I pulled out of the creek looked just like it. Attachments:

I've never heard of any goldens below Treasure Lakes...

I also have never heard of anyone catching one that low. Of course I didn’t have my phone with me to get a picture of it so everyone I tell says the same thing and I guess I would do the same, but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it, ha ha

The creek is VERY low so not much water holding good fish. My experience this year is that nice water is sporadic and usually fished out. Good luck its still fun to fish the creek. Agree with scout, doubt any Goldens that low. Maybe a cross with a brook and rainbow? Some native rainbows have that look without the deeper golden on them.
