Any fish reports? I am sure it was easy to keep your catch iced down this year.

It's been an interesting one. Starting Friday, there were campers, trailers, boats on trailers on 395...where did they think they were going? The only open water was in Bridgeport or Intake 2. The only open campgrounds were in Bridgeport, or...? Very quiet, mostly low key. Idiots walking on the ice on Crowley, not a good idea, I didn't hear of anybody falling in. The only fish I've heard about are fresh plants from Oregon in Bridgeport Res. and Lower Twin. Most everything else is frozen, flooded or unapproachable. Check out some of the facebook pages, there are some impressive pictures of flooded areas, and runoff hasn't even started yet. On another note, I stopped one of the County road guys I know to find out about the Canyon road...they are at East Fork now. He says there are a bunch of avalanches above East Fork that will take some time to bust through, it won't be any time soon.

Scout,
I'm curious what was on your brunch menu for the campers on your front lawn?

Despite the late openings and anticipated heavy flows, the Mammoth Times reports that "On a positive note, CDFW hatcheries have recovered from previous disease issues and are running at near capacity, they said. “A full season of bi-weekly stocking of lakes and streams is anticipated as they become accessible.”

I prefer Desert Springs nice fish over DFG 5 inch stockers. That said at least our $ from fees will be doing some good finally. Hoping they like dry flies as mine are REALLY dry not being able to get up and wet them!!
Hoping they can plant some prior to campgrounds opening so they have a chance to spread out.

The creek is raging, and things haven't really let loose at higher altitude yet. There's more water flowing through Tuff camp now than I've seen in years, French is high, fast and dirty. Talked with a DWP guy about things , he said they have no idea what to expect. With all that said, I doubt very much if anybody will be stocking any creeks for awhile. Could be a good thing, the fish would be bigger, and more numerous when they finally get to stock.

I'm anxious to get into East Fork to check out the beaver dams. Should be interesting in there this season.

They will probably have to do a lot of repair work.
